Police driver acquitted of all charges in Freddie Gray death

BALTIMORE (AP) — It was supposed to be an open-and-shut case: The 25-year-old black man was healthy before his arrest, and arrived at the nearby station dying from a broken neck. But a judge ruled Thursday that prosecutors failed to prove any crime was committed by Officer Caesar Goodson , who drove the van where Freddie Gray suffered his fatal injury during a six-stop, 45-minute odyssey after he tried to outrun a police patrol. After three trials and no convictions, it's increasingly clear that the evidence against six Baltimore police officers in charged in Gray's death is too weak to sustain the hopes of citizens desperate for reform.Police union president Gene Ryan called on State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby on Thursday to reconsider her "malicious prosecution," since he's certain the remaining officers also will be acquitted.Gray's death became a rallying cry for the Black Lives Matter movement, fueling outrage nationwide over the treatment of black people by the criminal justic

We tried Burger King's new Mac n' Cheetos — and they're an 'affront to nature'

Burger King is contributing to the fast food battle to create the most bizarre food items possible with their new "Mac n' Cheetos." They are deep-fried mac n' cheese sticks covered with Cheetos flavoring. They will officially debut on June 27th, but we were lucky (?) enough to grab some at a New York location that was already selling them.

At least 4 tornado touchdowns confirmed in northern Illinois

CHICAGO (AP) — At least six tornadoes touched down in northern Illinois Wednesday night as powerful storms swept across the upper Midwest, damaging rural communities and forcing thousands of soccer fans to seek shelter during the Copa America semifinal in Chicago. The National Weather Service said an EF-2 tornado with estimated top wind speeds of 115-125 mph cut a path more than 11 miles long and about four football fields wide through the city of Pontiac, injuring four people Wednesday night. Survey crews also identified three EF-1 tornadoes, with maximum winds up to 110 mph, that struck Cissna Park, Ottawa and West Brooklyn. No injuries resulted from those storms.Survey crews were investigating damage along three separate supercell paths, the weather service said."We are fortunate things are not worse and are thankful there were no fatalities," Illinois Gov.
